Update 14: Audio Page Maintenance

Hello, just writing briefly to tell you all that the Audio Page is temporarily down for maintenance. I think the problem is on my end, but nonetheless it should be fixed shortly. I also will update the page with new recordings once it is running.

Also, I’m currently preparing Akkadian materials to launch in February. I have also been toying with the idea of a systematically formulated Braille script to depressant the actual cuneiform script. This is no easy task and I’m not sure if there’s a real point to it, but I’m attempting it regardless.

In conclusion, remember to order, comment, and spread the word.

P.S. Expect to see the Catalogue updated within the week. More information to come.

Update 13: Requests

Hello again, I have been looking for ways to update the Catalogue and I’m currently working on transcriptions of Celsus, Pliny the Elder, and Manilius. These transcriptions will cover art history, architecture, medicine, surgical techniques, astronomy, and much much more. However, I realize that while I have been trying to compile a respectable and comprehensive Catalogue, the only true way to make this organization as useful as possible is to take any and all requests. I have an enormous personal library stocked with numerous ancient works written in many languages, so all your request can either be met currently or will gladly be met in the future, as I am always looking to expand my library. Please take advantage of this new feature, but keep in mind that the production time will be greater than that of the works already listed in the Catalogue.

Remember that this website is for all of you, so even if I have never mentioned an idea you have please suggest it via email. You all play an equally important role in the expansion of this organization.

Thanks again, and remember to order, comment, and spread the word.

Happy Holidays!

Happy holidays from Classical Braille! In the spirit of the season, I’m adding holiday songs in Latin to the Braille catalogue. I understand the minimal interest there probably is concerning these, but I have them and want them to be available to anyone else with a similar interest.

Thanks again, and remember to order, comment, and spread the word.

Update 12

Hey, this is just a quick update but I have prepared a ton of new transcriptions from a myriad of ancient Greek sources so be sure to check back within the next couple of hours!

On a side note, Classical Braille still plans on offering Akkadian material, but it will not be offered for a month or two since I have not had the time lately to collect and transcribe the necessary materials.

Thanks.

Update 11

Hello. Sorry for the recent inactivity on the site itself, but I have been working on some transcriptions. Checkout the Catalogue page to see the new additions.

Thanks for the support, and remember to order, comment, and spread the word.

Update 10

Sorry for the recent inactivity, but I have been doing some Classical Braille work unrelated to the website. In the upcoming weeks I should make some announcements, but in the mean time please contact me with any thoughts, concerns, or orders.

Thanks for the support and please remember to order, comment, and spread the word.

New Page: Audio

The Audio page is now up and running. This page is designed for those who either do not read braille or do not wish to wait for their order to arrive. Everything on the Catalogue will not be available on the Audio page, and vice versa. I will be starting the Audio page with selections from Catullus, and will expand into Cicero and then into something Greek.

Thanks for your support and remember to order, comment, and spread the word.

Expansion: Akkadian Braille

I have decided to add Akkadian to the languages offered by Classical Braille. Currently, I have only made the tentative braille code presented below. Hopefully, I will be updating the Catalogue soon with Akkadian selections from Gilgameš, the Atraḫasis myth, and various Old Babylonian letters, oaths, and contracts.

As always, thank you for your support, and remember to order, comment, and spread the word.

Update 8: Expansion

I am just typing to update you all on Classical Braille’s status. First, I am currently out of town but still making selections for my next set of transcriptions. Right now I am considering Pliny the Elder, Aristotle, and Cicero. All very classic and typical so if you want something more specific or obscure transcribed just make a request by emailing Classical_Braille@yahoo.com.

Second, I am considering expanding the ancient languages that Classical Braille transcribes and offers. Currently I’m considering Oscan and Umbrian, two ancient Italic languages, and this will require creating Braille alphabets for these languages. This is a possibility but I’ll have to just take it slow and update my progress on this blog. Some answers should be divulged by September. As with the works, you may also request an ancient language and I will consider adding it to Classical Braille.

Thank you all for your support and remember to order, request, and spread the word.

Update 7: Order

The Order page is now up and running, and you can consult it at any time to learn about the ordering procedures. They are very simple and all the works are free, so I suggest you check it out.

Remember to comment, spread the word, and order.
